East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

Yes, my old Spurn Ranger bus service run under my project Heritage Connections and Hidden Treasures. It was the sister service to the Driffield Dodger - two mercs (418 and 419). Each had their own bespoke vinyl (Chap in Hull I used and East Yorkshire's sign writer to fix).

Plans announced to open a new train maintenance facility at Shipley

NL does seem to be losing a lot of traction. EMUs Shipley, 155 and 170s to Hull, LNER with Doncaster (Albeit they will have the micro fleet) so I wonder whether there is a future for Holbeck?

Plans announced to open a new train maintenance facility at Shipley

Interesting if the electrics are going to be based here. Neville Hill has recently lost 155 and 170s to Botanic Gardens Depot in Hull that looks after all engineering. LNER Hull and Lincoln sets now go to Doncaster, no more XC or EMR. I presume Holbeck will still be used.

Plan to Reopen Hull Paragon (Listed)Platform 1.

Prior to the Interchange there were two short (Original truncated) platforms - 2 & 3. These had been well out of use prior to this (Track lifted). The only other passenger platform to go was the original Platform 1 which again went many years previously. There's not a lot of space on the...

Expansion of Doncaster rail freight terminal agreed

No trains from either of these areas so I suppose you mean by road.

East Yorkshire Motor Services, now part of Go-Ahead

We had it in Hull and Hessle as part of our bid to government for ZEBRA funding. https://news.hull.gov.uk/28/11/2023/councils-and-bus-operators-join-forces-to-demonstrate-electric-buses/. Hull City Council is acting as the lead body with a partnership with East Riding of Yorkshire Council. I...

Kings Cross to Cleethorpes - LNER

Yes it is just one return service to Cleethorpes initially and as said extension of the Lincoln service. I am in regular contact with LNER as The City of Hull & Humber Environment Forum and the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce together have been working on this for some years now.

Plan to Reopen Hull Paragon (Listed)Platform 1.

The proposal is to extend the platform by 7 metres. As well as passenger trains this will enable more overnight stabling meaning a total of 7 passenger platforms, 4 stabling platforms and 1 other road at the station. The station is a busy place and there is more need for stabling following the...

Kings Cross to Cleethorpes - LNER

This all started again when the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce and my organisation The City of Hull & Humber Environment Forum was asked by a local MP to look in to this. We met with the Dft in London, Network Rail and with LNER in York. We then built up a proposal to run a service via...

Do the old bay platforms at Hull Paragon still get much use?

These platforms to the Southside of the station (and Station separately) are also Listed especially D and E roads (Historically Platforms 13 & 14) because of their historical importance to handle immigrant passengers from north-west Europe to America during the Victorian and early part of the...

Major expansion at Botanic Gardens Depot Hull

This week Northern announced major investment at BG. This will allow all routine maintenance of 155 and 170 to be done in Hull. A new wheel lath, buildings and track is to installed.

Neville Hill Depot - Transfer from EMR to Northern

Thanks for the responses. I wonder whether if this means bringing in Holbeck and Crofton once the HSTs and what's left of the LNER 91s go. There will be less of a need for the heavy engineering facilities of the side of the shed that is not Northern at present.

Neville Hill Depot - Transfer from EMR to Northern

What's the future for the East Midlands part of this depot other than to service LNER once EMR get their new fleet?

    Hull Biomass Terminal

Irregular use happens on a regular basis. Hull sees much lower use than Immingham and other terminals to Drax but it is still used.

    Northern service to Scotland?

TPE no longer have any involvement on the Yorkshire Coast line (Hull to Scarborough). Now all operated and crewed from Hull. There has been a significant uplift in Northern crews at Hull about a third more drivers and conductors.

    Hull Platform One

Not sure but definitely issues with Platform 1. I have been in meetings with Network Rail when it has been discussed. There are also restrictions on some of the passenger platforms that reduces the use of traction.

    Hull Platform One

No Platform 1 has not been used for years! It is out of use because of curvature and track. All the other former platforms are in use for stabling (Originally 11, 12, 13 and 14). Now known as A-E Roads (There is a track between). TPE want it back in use and discussions have taken place but some...
