Thanks. I've reserved them seats on the 09:30 and told them to speak to customer services to make sure they'll be allowed to travel on that service.

LNER saying tickets for tomorrow are valid on Wednesday and Thursday. My parents were due to travel on the cancelled 10:06 out of KGX, surely they should be able to travel on an earlier or later service?

How much quicker could the service be with the current stopping patterns, if given better paths?

I have to wonder if Standard Premier will go the same way as the GNER Standard + did, although it does offer a little bit more than Standard + as that was just a standard class carriage with complimentary tea and coffee.

I'm sure I remember doing KGX to PBO in 39 mins on a Saturday evening years ago, but I may be misremembering the departure time of 20:00. I just remember the clock on platform 4 saying 20:39 I'm sure many will be along soon to tell me that can't possibly be right! :lol:

I went for the Class 373, but it was a close choice between that and the 225.

Not really, the average passenger on LNER know that their shiny new trains are called Azumas as the branding is everywhere. So when they're being told the Class 800 Hitachi fleet are not able to run they don't see how that affects their Azuma trains. Not everyone is going to know the rolling...

I remember that GNER introduced Standard+ where complimentary tea and coffee was served, I think it was aimed at the business traveller.

I'm late to this particular party (thread) but I'd have them on the Stanstead to Birmingham NS route instead of the ghastly 170s. Sure you may be wasting a 125mph capable unit where it couldn't be fully utilised; but oh well! :D Then I'd also want to extend the service to International as well...
