    Speaking as a driver,I couldn't care less about delay attribution,that's a job for somebody else. Speaking as a union rep tablets would only be introduced by agreement and that will not be forthcoming.

    The problem here is that as long as drivers are being disciplined for incorrect use of technology etc why should something be placed in the cab that could tempt them down this very road. Our TOC wanted to issue tablets a couple of years ago but as a union we turned them down.

    It doesn't matter as in most cases you'll either sit spare with nothing to do or be paid leave as per depot or company agreements.

    At Chiltern we actively encourage the management to recruit trainee train drivers from within the company.Those from outside can join in other roles and apply for driving later.I believe this years course was 10/11 internal and just 1/2 external.
