Metrocar updates and withdrawals - Tyne & Wear Metro

33 is back in service after at least 6 months out of service, 79 is also operational but don't believe any of the others listed there are

    Blackpool Trams News

Any clues yet as to what the finalised service pattern will be? The current Fleetwood to Starr Gate just diverted via North Station each way, or a separate North Station - Pleasure Beach/Bispham service?

Could Llandudno-Chester Be Half-Hourly, with more Stops?

Indeed when I was there a couple of years ago on a summer Saturday there were people being left behind at places like Rhyl and Prestatyn, and the overcrowding caused extended dwells at the stations meaning we lost about 10 mins between Llandudno Junction and Chester

    Train Sim World

Personally I prefer sitting down and doing runs in the timetable mode of TSW, rather than the scenarios of TSC. As has been said, TSC has far more content, although it seems more developers are starting to get on board with TSW route/building.

    Manchester Metrolink

There may be a minimum turnaround specified within the planning rules to allow the driver time to shut the desk down at one end and set the desk up at the other, and like has been said above any additional standing time will help with timetable resilience. Although Metrolink doesn't publish an...

Tyne and wear metro yobs smashing windows

Those that are kicked out but don't smash can be reused. Also, if a window is dislodged rather than kicked out, reporting it can potentially allow it to be repaired on the go, either at South Gosforth or at a terminating station

Destination Swapping at Crewe Station 23/2/24

Possibly either a unit fault needing attention, but not enough to take the train immediately out of service, or the unit being close to a mileage based exam?

Nottingham Express Transit - Reliability & Renewals (2023-2024)

Also, the timetable on the website suggests the AM and PM peak weekday frequency is increased to every 7 mins, and that the Saturday daytime frequency is also every 7 mins. So are there additional services in the peaks on top of the timetable that arent running, or are services being cancelled...

    Newcastle metro - Easter shutdown

Yes, the trains should run between St James and South Gosforth via the Coast, as well as between Airport and South Gosforth, as although there isn't a timetable for the Metros showing, it does highlight where the buses will run. Trains at the other end of the system should run between Heworth...

Trains skipping stations when they are less than 5 minutes late

That is the most ideal way of adding extra resilience, though it obviously costs units and crew like you say, and can be restricted by platforming constraints etc. But that way those small delays can be absorbed by the turnaround time. I don't know how many 6 car sets operate on Merseyrail...

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

It's not as different a situation between the two, a lot of the stopped Tyne & Wear Metrocars are stopped because they require heavy maintenance and because of a lack of spare parts, rather than faults as such, which I think is similar to how Merseyrail have chosen the order in which sets are...

Metrolink - how does it cope with football/cricket/concert events?

An entrance to the siding from the other end, allowing access direct from the Etihad Campus would seem far more logical. Sidings in between running lines like that are handy due to not having to cross the other line either in or out, but that's completely negated by having to turn back on the...

    Tyne and Wear Metro Tracking

If you do a search for Sunderland on signal map sites, you should find the Sunderland line that that Metro shares with National Rail - the Metros will appear on the signal maps between Pelaw Metro Junction and South Hylton with 2Ixx headcodes. Unfortunately, the rest of the network will not...

storage on the Tyne and Wear Metro

Their primary use used to be to get trains between the Depot and St James, by coming round Manors Curve. Since Howdon Depot opened, trains can run from their straight to St James instead.
