    South Wales 'Metro' updates

I'm currently sat on what I assume is one (the newer trains that have been running on the rhymney line for a bit) at Cardiff central to Treherbert. Have had to treble check 3 times to make sure I'm on the correct train!

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Thank you both. I was just quite confused (and didn't know whether to blame it on me not being fully awake because of the clock changes )

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Does anyone have any ideas of why all the trains pontypridd to Merthyr seem to be cancelled today (according to the tfw app), but yesterday they were still shown as running? 1711879640 The bizarre thing is that they are now all showing as running again. Traksy was showing them as cancelled also...

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Too days in a row I've been on the 6:37 from ponty to queen street (ex-merthyr) and has felt so much quieter than normal without all of the Rhondda rail replacements getting on it! Got the 5:39 CDQ-PPD back, and it was a TRB service, vast majority of people seemed to be staying on past ponty

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

Have just had a look on the TFW app, and it's showing direct trains between treherbert and central on Monday, so seems like that is correct

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

The most recent news I've seen (unless I've missed some on here) says that the treherbert line line will open at some point this month, and I know that they've been running trains along in recent weeks, but does anybody know when? I'm actually asking for selfish reasons, I tend to have to get...

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

They've been running up and down all day (every time I look at traksy, I've missed the reverse journey and how far Cardiffwards they travelled

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

I don't know when it's reopening, but I have seen a few trains on the treherbert branch at ponty today. No idea whether this headcode is for 'test' or 'treherbert'

First class on LNER and GWR

Unfortunately, I had to get them separately, as using lner friends and family for the Lincoln to London, and from kings X to Cardiff (I did that, because I haven't bought my contactless card with me, so can't tap my way through the tube), I've used the sites ticket site to purchase (any time I'm...

First class on LNER and GWR

Hey all, not sure if this is in the right subforum or not (please move if not admins), but next Friday, as a birthday treat to myself, I'm going to be travelling on first class from Lincoln to kings cross, and then paddington to cardiff. (Separate tickets, and both booked separately Lincoln...

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

From this photo above the split from the treherbert and Merthyr lines at Pontypridd, am I right, from looking at it, that the green block to the right of the Merthyr line, on the tram road, is an electric substation, and then the white pipes leading up to the gantry are electric lines? If so...

Former station names still in use today

I'd always assumed that it was just short for Lincoln (age 40, grew up within 20miles away)

I thought people may appreciate a few shots of the new depot at taffs well and how it's looking now

    South Wales 'Metro' updates

6pm close of service? I regularly get the train from queen Street up Pontypridd way up to 8:15pm, it's 8:30 the RRBs start from

    Puzzling question asked on train

I believe that embers25 mentioned that they are not advance tickets, and so don't have the same stopping and starting short detriment
