Advance ticket validity during strike days

Thanks everyone. I'll ask a guard on the train if it can be endorse my ticket to go straight to West Drayton, but otherwise I think I'll just complete the journey going via Paddington as it doesn't take much longer as Watershed mentioned.

Advance ticket validity during strike days

Before this week's strike days were announced I had purchased an Advance ticket from Polsloe Birdge to Paddington via GWR on Sat June 3rd. When the ASLEF strike was announced for June 3rd, my plan was to take advantage of the easement to allow myself to travel the day before on the Friday. As...

    Exeter to Hampton Court

Don't forget megatrain tickets, though I don't think you can use it on the way back with your time constraints. You would also have to ride all the way into Waterloo. I don't think there is much in the way of splitting with advances via SWT.

Fare Check Rule with a 'Route Via' ticket

As a journey from A to B it is probably reasonable, as its about 30 miles longer to make a 200 mile journey. Though X is actually further away from A than B. What is probably unreasonable is if you stop short at X, since the ticket A to B Route Via Y is almost half the price of the cheapest...

Fare Check Rule with a 'Route Via' ticket

I'll see if I can avoid posting the exact journey without it being too confusing... I'm trying to do a journey from A to B via X. Going via X is only valid on a mapped route when I use a particular associated routing point for B. I'll call my chosen associated routing point C. So, to see if...

Derailment in the Bronx (New York City)

I just meant that there its more than just a case of the driver failing to slow down for the curve (for whatever reason) since he was going 12mph faster than the speed limit on the straight section leading up to it. I dunno if its all on a big downhill slope though.

Derailment in the Bronx (New York City)

What is especially crazy is that the section before the 30mph curve is *only* 70mph, so something was seriously amiss here...

Have i been sent wrong tickets???

If you specify the National Rail stations as your arrival and departure rather than the tube stations, ie "London Euston to London Charing Cross" in the tfl planner, it will include a small amount of walking time on either end which I think is meant to correspond to how long it takes to get to...

    London->Feltham->Twickenham

By the way, if you change onto South West Trains at Vauxhall rather than Waterloo you can save 40p. On Saturday only 2 out of the 6 trains per hour serving Feltham do not stop at Vauxhall, and you can simply change at Clapham Junction for them. On Sunday all 5 trains per hour stop at Vauxhall.

    UK Storms

I'm due to travel from Huddersfield to Alton today via Northern, East Coast and then South West Trains. I'm travelling on a EC & connections advance, and both East Coast and SWT have said that tickets for today can be used tomorrow instead. I'm assuming that I can travel tomorrow even though...

Can anyone confirm this routing? Huddersfield to Walkden: valid via Blackburn?

I am particularly interested in the the following: Is my amateur analysis correct in that a "Huddersfield to Walkden via Hebden Bridge" ticket is valid all the way out to Blackburn? (The CDR in particular, but I don't think it matters...) Is this likely to have issues of acceptance? I don't...

This video is actually a parody of a different video, though this newer one seems to have become much more popular across the internet. Here is the original: RhYXNwvcl6A

    Shenstone to Liverpool

There is a Super Off-Peak ticket for this route which costs £16.50, route ANY PERMITTED, with restriction code LH. As far as I can tell this ticket shouldn't have any restriction on which operator you use to make the journey, though usually you would travel with London Midland, who price this...

    Virgin Trains & Changing Seats

I'm not sure if thetrainline has anything to do with it. CrossCountry uses thetrainline, and you can pick your seat on their site.
