The process I recall was the Castner cell which used the electrolysis of brine to produce chlorine with a lot of hydrogen as a by product. Very energy intensive though. I don’t think there is an easy way to produce hydrogen.

I've been on a Virgin Voyager at Crewe that has been coupled up to another whilst passengers were on board. They just shut all the doors to prevent anyone boarding or alighting and got on with it.

To obtain the full Pacer experience it's best to wait until it's raining so you can enjoy the raindrops running inside the window and down your leg, certainly if you are over 6ft in height and your having to sit with your knees splayed and hard up against the side of the carriage. :smile:

Not that fussed on the train design other than 2+2 seating with comfortable high backed seats, sufficient legroom for 6ft 3in person and that it is clean. Prefer to have quiet carriages as standard with one noisy carriage for those wishing to use phones etc. So long as these criteria are met and...

One was running through Runcorn at approx 1555 this afternoon heading towards Crewe.

The two peak trains via WBQ are now usually a 4 car 158 and a 67/DVT with a four carriage rake. Still standing though from Runcorn East.

Will the 319s be used on Lime St to Man Vic services does anyone know?
