I got one of them, or something similar, up in the loft which I've had for years. I've been thinking about getting a DCC kit and starting a proper layout, but I can never be bothered :lol:

Hmm, you could probably do something like that with AutoCAD. You'd just need to draw some blocks for the various bits of track, then join them all together. I might have a play next time I get a spare 5 minutes at work :lol:

Yeah, I've pretty much decided to go with DCC when I get around to building a layout. Is the DCC chip included with a DDC ready loco, or is it just the wiring? Also are Bachman DCC locos compatible with Lenz controllers? Which controller would you recommend, Bachman or Lenz? I'm planning...

I don't think the traditional method would be flexible enough for what I want to do. e.g. having two locos stabled in the same siding with their lights on would be quite difficult without fairly complex wiring.

I wasn't really interested in the sounds. As I'm planning to build a yard, it seems to me that DCC would be easier to impliment than the conventional method. I was also interested in the computer control module.

Does anyone here use DCC on their layouts? I'm considering building a small junction station/yard layout at some point and DCC would seem the best way to control it. If anyone one has any useful links on the subject post them here.

Keep us updated if you use DCC. I've had an idea for a layout I want to try and build using DCC if I can find the time, space and money. I might get the Digital Diesel Freight Set from Bachman and have a play around with it sometime.
