    Unique railway stations

    Ormskirk has only has one platform which is split in the middle by buffers and as a result numbered P1 & P2. P1 is used my Merseyrail and P2 by Northern Rail. Presumably in days gone by it was a through platform. Also, Norton Bridge must be quite unique these days as it is an island station...

    Appleford - Culham on the Didcot - Oxford line are timetabled at 1 minute, not that there are many trains that you can catch to make this journey direct!

    More than filled in, my Dad tells me that platform 5 used to run the full length of the station alongside P6 before leading to a siding on the way to where the road bridge now is.

    Watford Junction has no Platform 5. P1-4 are used by Overground, 6-9 are the through platforms, 10 is a south facing bay and 11 is for the St Albans Abbey branch.

    I was at West Croydon yesterday and the only bay platform is now P1 (also confirmed on National Rail Enquiries there are only P1, 3 & 4). Its jseems strange that there is still a sign indicating where to go for P2 (but only from P1), you would think they would have removed it or blanked it out...

    West Croydon doesn't have a Platform 2, even though there are signs on P1 indicating it is where P3 is :-?
