All The Stations - project to video every British Railway Station

I may be mistaken, but are they not using the same definition of 'visit' as the various Challenges organised by RailUK members?

All The Stations - project to video every British Railway Station

If you don't watch any TV programmes, you don't have to buy a TV licence. (I assume this is what you mean.) You do have a choice, though you may not find it palatable. Where you have no choice is for programmes funded by advertising unless you never never never buy any goods or services from...

Blaenau Ffestiniog is something of a wasteland.

Trivia: Cities and towns with unconnected stations

Depends what is meant by a rail connection. You can get to Snow Hill and Moor Street from New Street by changing at Smethwick Galton Bridge; or by taking a tram to Snow Hill. If only direct National Rail connections are counted then I can offer The Hawthorns to Sandwell and Dudley, Dudley...

Trivia: Who operates your local station?

That must mean a very small area for your location being closer to New Street than Moor Street (Chiltern), Snow Hill (LM) or Five Ways (LM) all within walking distance of BHM.

    New New Street

All of the through platforms have A and B ends. The sole bay platform is 4C and there are are no others marked C. It is also a good deal easier to locate your platform than at, say, Edinburgh, or King's Cross.

Trivia: Stations that don't use the correct name of the place.

Dudley Port is not in Dudley, nor is it a port. . [It is in Tipton, which in turn is part of Sandwell.]

Trivia: Stations that don't use the correct name of the place.

The Sandwell council offices are in Oldbury and close to the station.

Why is it Tamworth Low Level?

"Directly opposite platform 3!" To get to 4 from 3, you cross the bridge cunningly disguised as a platform.

    RailUK First Class Lounge Guide

You need to have a first class ticket valid on a Virgin train to or from the station to gain admittance. Your ticket is valid for Virgin services as far as Wolverhampton before changing to XC or LM to Stafford. (Assuming that you do not hold an advance or TOC-specific ticket for XC or LM from BHM.)

The pictures attached are the interior of the new (temporary) lounge at New Street. Note the rather cheap looking white plastic chairs in the second shot. Please feel free to use any or all of them.

    RailUK First Class Lounge Guide

It does not say whether the £10 minimum is before or after railcard discounts. You could make an argument either way. If the £10 applies to the price paid it might be an interesting exercise to find out which tickets would be cheaper paying full price than discounted + £5, essentially any priced...

    RailUK First Class Lounge Guide

This sounds like an excellent reason to wait in the first class lounge. Why take an LM train with no complimentary drinks instead of having a tea or coffee before travelling with Virgin? It is no part of the dragons' role to dictate to passengers which TOC to use. I have never had a real...

    RailUK First Class Lounge Guide

This seems to be completely wrong. The Virgin website says "to enter the First Class lounge, just show your valid Virgin Business, First Anytime or Advance First ticket". It might be worth sending a complaint to VT. Dragons do not make the rules, their company does.

    RailUK First Class Lounge Guide

The last couple of times I have been in the BHM lounge the crisps were concealed behind the desk, presumably so that the dragons can snack on them. I only saw them as I was leaving. The biscuits were very nice and in plain sight.

Does this mean "popular"? In my experience, BHI is better than BHM, COV and WVH, the others I visit regularly. Admittedly, it could be different at weekends.
