Why is Hungerford now only 3 cars?

Not quite correct, Bedwyn and Kintbury can take 4 coaches, Hungerford 6, I think Theale and Thatcham also can take 6, Reading West would certainly cope with 5 or more, not sure about the other stations but thats what it was in HST days if I remember correctly.

We could do with a database or list of stations that used to be request stops? I know a lot of the Cumbrian Coast once was.

Is that the plan? I hope so! I agree on Basingstoke, wouldn’t bother with Bedwyn unless it’s done as part of the Mendip Quarries freight electrification. I would do Windsor-Slough though. In an ideal world binning off Heathrow Express releases 12 387s!

How are they going to find an extra eight IET sets to replace all the castles? Personally, in the longer term, I think they should electrify Didcot to Oxford and use 387s on London to Oxford shuttles to release a couple of sets.

Just checking RTT for XC HSTs on Saturday 1st July and Sunday 2nd. There seems to be 3 (if not 4) southbound workings on the Saturday. Is this correct they are all diagrammed for HSTs or is it just how XC have timed them on that day? I realise there may be more out due to Newport diversion...
