    Sheffield/Rotherham Tram-Train update

A non local 11-15 having to pay full fare to me is very poor. Agree about conductors though, very customer friendly way to run the system!

    Edinburgh Tram developments

Just caught it for the first time. Nice trams, very comfortable actually. Ride smooth too. Just feels like a simple operation whereas all cities need a network of this sort of transport not a simple out and back line. I can certainly see potential though.

Don't miss the last tram home - now earlier due to Metrolink 'improvements'

Of course maybe Man City could pay for some extra trams? Maybe take 0.01% of the wage of each player to easily fund it.

    Leeds Tram Article

https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/time-for-leeds-to-revist-tram-system-leeds-business-leader-claims-1-8867917 Found this article I have looked through previous threads on the tram project for Leeds here but just thought this article prompted further discussion. Having moved to Leeds in...

    Edinburgh Tram developments

The alternatives may have been prohibitively expensive. Better to design a system that can survive a 1 in 10 year storm than it not get built at all. Designing drainage for infrastructure is a very delicate balance.

    Tyne and Wear Metro

Would going to Washington use the Leamside line? I would be concerned about putting the metro down there as my current research suggests that heavy rail opening may be possible in the medium term.

    Manchester Metrolink master thread

Why did the spend money electrifying the old route and replacing stations? surely delay metrolink for a year or two taking over from Northern and open all together?

North East Combined Authority for Transport

I am with Ainsworth as finding the omission of Teeside as a potential problem.

Largest cities without a metro system

None of them have an almost entirely segregated system with tunnels through city centre. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- So does Tyne and Wear Metro ;)

Largest cities without a metro system

Locals are not keen on trolleybuses, they see little benefit for disruption. With typical journey times longer than current buses! They also are hostile due to seeing it as a kop out to the previous tram plan. But even the tram plan had little support, there would be little or no segregation...

    Sheffield Tram-Train

Noted that the tram trains will be capable of running on 25kV AC for when the loop is electrified in CP6. But initially electrified at the current Supertram Voltage.

Keep up the good work on that. That line is not for trams. FAR too far out.

T&W Metro Light rail/Heavy Rail share

Okay so none of these features are general regulations for light rail/heavy rail share. And are specific to this line? Obviously that makes it more difficult for me to pick up practises and reference them into my work. I wasn't sure if general regulations appeared anywhere as with the Tram-Train...

    Vulcan XH558

Saw it last year, it took off at waddington then did a spiral up into the clouds (dont know official name or anything) on full power. Something i will never forget, ever. Shame to see it go.

    Light Rail Survey

I'd offer to help but as im doing the same project at uni, i dont feel it is in best interests :) Although i will say with reference to bends, tell him/her to look at the brief where it specifies that design average speed must be 80kph, looking at turning radii that means keep bends to a...
