    Last Aptis

I have found most staff very friendly when issuing platform tickets on these machines and the only ones left really are the Tube/NR stations. CT were fine with issuing them same with SK. Gunnersbury is gone its Tribute (although I couldn't get a good view into the back). I am unsure whether the...

    Your Favourite FOC?

EWS for the reasons given in the other topic.

Which is your favourite freight operator?

I'd probably say EWS mainly due to them having a few 37s still going also they were very friendly during my work expeirence application. They also have allowed my into their depots and were very helpful and freindly throughout the visits. I realise they have replaced alot with 66s and 67s but...

Which is your favourite freight operator?

I don't think DRS's drivers would agree they are the best.

    Crazy Enthusasts

Mine was the same as James, as soon as we got that text from Yorkie we were off that train like a shot. It was a great desicion and we got a very rare working to Aberdeen. Great.

    WCML Class 87's RETURN!

I doubt this will happen and will not raise my hopes too high. All I can say is if they do run I'll concentrate on doing them all the time I can before there gone again. I don't want another incident where I was waiting for 87013 (which would of been the last ever 87 hauled service train) at...

    FGW 180s to Scotland!?

Ah didn't realise that WHL wasn't cleared for 158s, well most of Scotland would see improvements as the 180s could no dobut displace enough 170s to send up to Inverness to get rid of the 158s up there.

    FGW 180s to Scotland!?

Well 180s being replaced on most lines by HSTs seems a result for me. the only line that seems to be losing out is the Cotswold Line which had lots of 165s when I travelled on it anyway so just more of the same for them and it didn't seem that important to me. If the 180s replaced 170s on...

    GNER allows rovers after all!

I don't think people should be congratulating GNER for bringing this back but thinking they should never have refused to accept them in the first place.
  16. joy54.gen

West Highland 37s - THE END?

Again a great arguement, which is... basically that they don't have much character and apparenlty they weren't made for the WHL, which I can't remember saying???

West Highland 37s - THE END?

Who said people aren't accepting there going, I'm just making the point of the stupidity of them being withdrawn, evidently 50149 has his favourite locos 50s and would be argueing just the same if it was 50s on the WHL, but as it is a loco he calls 'boring' apparently hes seen so many. Well...

West Highland 37s - THE END?

You said in your first statement 50149 that enthusiasts should pay to keep the 37s, but it seems that you want someone to pay for the use of 67s on the WHL, well why don't you take your own advice and pay for them yourself.
  19. joy54.gen

West Highland 37s - THE END?

So your arguement for getting rid of the 37s is the march of technology. Hmm... more expensive, heavier per axle and slower. You can keep the march of technology if thats what it is bringing.

West Highland 37s - THE END?

Sorry yes it was number of axles not wheels, got confused but I knew the weight was more spread out so it was cheaper to run 37s.
