Railtour on a Javelin [UK Railtours]

What fool accidentally booked every seat! They'll have a shock when they see their credit card bill:lol: Honestly, there is very little there that hasnt been done before. May be unusual, but most has happened already, and when you start using a 395, well, then a train is just a train, and...

    Man Assaulted at Locomotion Shildon.

    Spitfire Railtours

I believe i saw someone on another forum say he had emailed Spitfire, and they confirmed what was on the website. Next year supposedly. We shall see.

50007 sold to Boden Rail Engineering

Youd have needed more 37s and 50s. Extra 37s so you could triple head everything, and extra 50s so you could have a thunderbird at every station:twisted: --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Very true. Well apart from 66s and 67s. They can happily go to mr scrappy. Apart from that...

    YORK NRM Great Gathering

It was very busy Wednesday. Apparently 4000 people in the first hour after opening. i got there about 1300 and the queue must have been around 2hrs long nearly. It wasnt moving very fast at all, and snaked right round to the lane, and down the lane. Wasnt going to wait, and so came back about...

    Did I really see...

    Charters under threat?

The majority of charters are for normal passengers. Not so called cranks.

    Cruise Saver - 3rd Dec

The last one is the Nortbound working to Edinburgh. Supposedly the prices being charged for cruises by Carnival have priced Cruise Saver out of it. So I assume Cruise Saver/ Bath Travel dont deal with Carnival anymore.

    Uk Railtours/DB Schenker

Are the FL drivers passed to drive class 1 trains? Im guessing not. Also, assuming you can only get a finite number of FL drivers, what do you use them on? Surely the most profitable work? Thats definitely not charters. I know its no excuse for all the years of neglect towards their drivers...

    Uk Railtours/DB Schenker

Lets be fair here. It is only during the manning problems that DB have been messing up. Yes it has been very poorly handled, but before the ban on rest day working, UKR apparently hadnt cancelled a tour for quite a while. Sounds to me like DB are usually quite reliable. As for WCRC and outside...

    Uk Railtours/DB Schenker

What is even more terrible, is that the wording used, implies it was the delays (caused by DBS) that caused the fatality (if that is what it is). Mr Farrow needs to look at how he words things. He may not be happy with DBS, but to try and make out that they are responsible for someone passing...

More UK Railtours Trips Cancelled Due To Strike Action

They've quietly gotten rid of them off the website. Have you heard for definite that your trip to Scarborough is cancelled? There was a rumour that the Snowdonian tour the day before was to be operated by DRS instead.

UKR - The Grinkle Belle - Sunday 2nd September

Cue DRS and WCRC rubbing their hands in glee!!!

Pathfinder, Provisional dates for the diary

I was wondering if the MOD lines could be what they are on about. Toton and that sort of area, i always saw as perhaps East Midlands. But hey, best wait until they confirm it i suppose.

Pathfinder, Provisional dates for the diary

They seem to do it every year. Last year I think it went around unusual lines around Crewe and Liverpool, using things like a 92 and a 60. They have yet to say where they are going this year.

Pathfinder, Provisional dates for the diary

Dunno when the PF booklet was printed. Something to bare in mind though. Take it all with a pinh of salt. I cant make the Deltic tour anyway. Hopefully can make the last 3 tours. Liking the sound of them. Anyone any idea what they may mean by South Midlands freight lines?

Class 20's Shresbury to Weardale on Bank Holiday Monday

Apparently fixed today, and Pathfinder have had it confirmed from DRS that these 2 will be left in charge tomorrow. They must have been busy at Crewe. Over a week for a coolant leak! --- old post above --- --- new post below --- I actually make those timings to be slightly out. We are...
