To be fair, the Welsh Highland has always had higher fares. It is about 2hours 15 mins for the 25 mile single journey. there are long and severe gradients so it will burn a lot of coal which has doubled in price since 2019.

The National Trust gardens at Sheffield Park are about 15 minutes walk from the station - turn left and follow the path across the field. It has a good tea room and the gardens are worth a visit - free if you are a NT member.

I thought UKR always stated when specific traction was planned. otherwise safest to assume it is a 66 or 67.

UKR mentioned on their facebook page that the tour has been postponed - they will announce a new date in a future newsletter. The planned exhibition is not taking place now.
