Would a Labour government be better for the railways than the current Conservative one?

Agreed. The strikes are costing the industry far more than a payrise or not changing ts and cs would, (governments own figures), and thats not including the wider damage to the economy but the government will allow them to continue as they are entrenched in their position. If Labour offered a...

    Low alcohol-tolerance vehicles

Surely with the cost of these systems (yes they will come down a bit with mass use) any imposition should be only on those who have previously committed offences. I'd object to having to pay for such a system to be installed and calibrated. Drug driving is now more common than drink driving, yet...

It is 1.2 miles from Middleton shopping...

Trivia: Large towns in UK with no railway station

Oldham Mumps and Shaw were the only stations on the route to have 4 trains an hour all the other stations on the route had 2 trains an hour so have seen a massive frequency increase with Metrolink. It should also be noted that whilst Oldham Mumps and Shaw had 4 trains an hour, it certainly...

Rail employees discussing stuff on here

I do know of someone who was dismissed then reinstated to their job (not on the railway) because two usernames the same or similar being traced back to them. The employer couldn't be sure however whether the second profile which had offending remarks about the company was set up by the person...
