Door open on moving DLR train

A door open in traffic is not normally something that the RAIB would investigate. It would probably fall under 'another incident that could have caused death or serious injury had the circumstances been slightly different' so would therefore have had to be be reported to the RAIB immediately but...

    metrolink split-ticketing

This is why I feel New Islington should be a 1/2 boundary station. Holt Town to New Islington (0.3 miles) costs £2.80 whereas New Islington to Cornbrook (2.1 miles) is £1.40 (adult singles)

    metrolink split-ticketing

    1) don't think so, if using contactless you may be able to quickly tap in at Cornbrook before doors close 2) no you don't need to get off. Just show the ticket that is valid at that time if tickets are checked (or both if checked at Cornbrook) 3) no, you would not have a valid ticket between...

    Metrolink for Old Trafford

East Didsbury would be the the obvious choice for me! If any disruption on this line I'd be tempted to go to Sale Water Park or Dane Rd (plenty of free on street parking and just off m60)

    Policing of Manchester Metrolink

It's for the police to decide which force deals with an incident. If you phone 999 or 101 whilst on the railway then it will be dealt with by the local force and passed on to BTP as necessary. Similarly 61016 will be dealt with by the force necessary.

    Manchester Metro T68

Yes almost certainly due to power issues. Northern have issued the same advice to drivers regarding 319s as several failures have been put down to driver putting unit into full power too quickly from a stand.

Trivia: barriers serving multiple transport systems.

Problem with barriering Sunderland and Park Lane is the proximity of University, Milfield, St. Peters and Stadium of Light all also being a short walk away. Fare dodgers would likely alight there and walk. Would be to expensive to barrier and staff them all. They've probably decided random...

Midland Metro to increase Penalty Fares & reintroduce buy at stop

I would be interested to know if they ever actually issued one? Possibly for an adult travelling on a child ticket?

    Early Morning Metrolink

The 43 runs at least half hourly 24/7 and serves a good chunk of Wythenshawe (east of the m56), running directly past Manchester Airport, Robinswood Rd, Wythenshawe Town Centre, Crossacres and Benchill Metrolink stops (also passes West Didsbury and Piccadilly Gardens stops as well).

Man who died after restraint by Metrolink contracted security staff is ruled to have been unlawfully killed.

I've seen somebody jump the ticket barriers on the Palma Mallorca metro only to be taken to the ground and given a beating with batons once on the floor by 2 security guards (may have been cops, they dress similar). Locals just walked on as it seemed a normal everyday occurrence. Didn't look...

Trivia - Intervisibility of tram stops.

On Manchester Metrolink you can see Sale and Timperley from Brooklands, (and all the way between Sale and Timperley, 2 stops as well) as the lines really straight. Same number of stops as the first example but a much greater distance. I bet there are places on Blackpool's trams where you can see...
