Why Are People Still Testing and Subsequently Isolating With Mild or Asymptomatic Covid?

Only potentially. I know people who have died from Covid, but I've never known someone die from catching a disease they caught off faeces on a door handle. But don't get me wrong, I'm glad you take a sensible precautionary approach to that though. Ignoring Covid. Personally if I know I...

Why Are People Still Testing and Subsequently Isolating With Mild or Asymptomatic Covid?

Do you wash you hands after using a public toilet or is sharing caring on that front too? Hopefully that isn't a decision tied up in an ideological battle for liberty, as there's no law against it...

    HVAC on Caledonian Sleeper

I by no means preach the same vociferous message as Yorkie, but the time for mask wearing (in often the literal loosest sense) as a general rule for all has come to an end now. Unless anyone knows any different, it seems Liverpool 507 and Watershed have provided the OP their answer.

    HVAC on Caledonian Sleeper

Given we don't know the OPs circumstances, it might be worth us avoiding a page of comments 'just don't worry about it/masks are tyrannous' and just answer their question where possible. They might want to consider an FFP3 mask though, if they're not already using them.

Scotrail - Post Covid Consultation - Service Reductions

I wouldn't get too excited yet. This was surely worked out before the Greens/SNP deal. Some folks at Scotrail got to put their efficiencies homework out there and the Greens can claim an early victory of their partnership in getting the plan scrapped. £40m is nothing in the grand scheme of...

The case for and against the effectiveness of face coverings and the mandating of their use

Doesn't it also make it far more likely to have it but be unsystematic? To me, now we're coming to the point where most people who'll have the second jab can get it is the point at which the masks become completely irrelevant. 1628782439 Undoubtedly. But they're not either/or, to be fair.

The case for and against the effectiveness of face coverings and the mandating of their use

Masks aren't worn for your benefit though, so I don't know why having the vaccination makes any difference. A few weeks after you've had the vaccination, you just don't need to be concerned with whether others wear masks. Not to argue the case for masks, as there'll never be sufficient evidence...

GTR Using a 313 for Staff Testing

The thing that surprises me is how some people are so keen to down play down the impact of Covid 19 and belittle the 'fear' of it, yet find the experience of taking a Covid test so utterly awful and are so keen to express it.

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

The scenes on the ground are a distraction. People might have found the highlights ugly, particularly with the narrative built up around it, but it was physically handled largely by the book and carried out safely. People being arrested is rarely pretty. The question is whether it should have...

Redbridge council spends £18k on 'Covid Bus'

What with what you've said and Brexit, I think we should ban advertising on buses. I'm getting the impression the British are dangerously influenced by this medium...

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

Almost got a more palatable version of 'the truth' there chaps, keep diggin, you might get them all off the hook yet... They couldn't even tip the van over... I've never personally known a 'football firm' attempt to write off a Police vehicle personally, maybe I'm too young. But I've known of...

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

Unfortunately some peoples belief in Government/Police incompetence conveniently only stretches to the point just short of them being able to carry out convoluted, clandestine operations against 'the people' with impunity, which we're led to believe they're constantly carrying out, because the...

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

Jeez, how far down the rabbit hole do you need to be to bare reading this section of the forum... I don't even know where to start. You do realise you can in reality just go where you like on mainland GB, particularly with a car? The chances of even seeing a Police officer are small, being...

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

I thought the most interesting thing about Bristol was how brazen/foolish/high those taking part were. Most faces were barely disguised, if at all. Maybe they got too confident after the Colston statue affair... Bristol isn't a big place. I guess they thought once they'd overthrown the Avon &...

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

To be fair, I agree, the vast majority of people are probably still indifferent.

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

Well, I thought the below rather more obvious, under the circumstances... The vast majority of the general public will have gone from indifferent/unaware to supportive, even if they still aren't aware of what is actually in this rather needless, 'controversial' Bill... In fact, if much of the...

More police misbehaviour: are they trying to deliberately wind the public up?

Well, as we've seen on here, there are plenty of people willing to fan the flames of discontent on the internet. And as we've seen in Bristol tonight, there are some people nutty enough to take it to heart and think they're achieving something by acting on the rhetoric. Nobody wins.

There's a reason Lawyers are paid far more than Police Officers, for far less risk/grief... I appreciate it's inconvenient.

To be fair, this is very much your area of speciality. Going by this section of the forum, l imagine you've spent more hours discussing/analysing/critiquing this subject than some PCs have been at work entirely over the last year! Enforcing Covid laws is very little of what most PCs do...
