    Stopping at stations

Yeah and you could normally get away with overshooting the platform so long as the back door was on, back in the day... ;)

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

I'm not really sure where people are getting this tram thing from, presumably people unfamiliar with most Stadler products? I can well understand people moaning in the South Wales Valley's when their trams turn up, but the 777s just appear to be modern metro stock.

Class 810 for East Midlands Railway Construction/Introduction Updates

Each to their own, the 800-807s appear entirely bland/uninspiring to me. It looks like they put more effort into the 810.

Class 230 units training/introduction on the Borderlands line: updates

I've seen comments about Stadler, but I can't think of anything in their business model that lends me to think they'd be at all interested in taking on some small, long term maintenance contract for a few odd bodge job units reassembled out of 40 years old trains, that they'd never have built...

    Vivarail to enter administration

There seems to have been a fair amount of comments about the potential need to replace the 230s and 484s given Vivarail's situation. Should they really have ever been ordered if their continued use relied on Vivarail's continued existence? Surely there was always a reasonable chance that a...

Class 701 'Aventra' trains for South Western Railway

She certainly wasn't. People here went through a phase of being convinced that ASLEF must be to blame though.

    Not ASLEF to blame then...

Are Class 700’s really that bad?

Agreed. Tbh, it's only reading these forums that reminds that people actually still readily wish to use free public wifi.

Progress on Avanti West Coast's 805/807s Hitachi AT300 sets

It somewhat seems like the designers sticking two fingers up at those who have misgivings about them being allowed, particularly when they result in a non uniform livery, where yellow works nicely on the units that require it. They do it because they can, rather than because there's any need for it.

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

Anyone down there who's had (or nearly had) a career/liberty threating operating incident 'doing the doors', or know of those who have, probably won't see doing the doors with the same irreverence as random people on the internet...

    In-cab bugbears

Pity the DIs who end up spending the vast majority of their days on a terrible secondman seats. I've known one DI pack in instructing just because he couldn't physically stand it anymore.

    What makes a good livery?

Does anybody know why TfW hasn't chosen to apply this livery to its new rolling stock...? The silver really does work far better than white and the difference will be even more stark when dirty. As I've said before, they literally could/should have just done a red version of the Swiss BLS...
