There appears to be an updated Easements section of the routeing guide, dated today (21 Feb). Is anyone able to do a comparison of between this and the previous version to see what's new/changed?

Some easements have been added at the bottom from 700213 onward.

Since diff doesn't work on PDFs I'm hoping someone can get a changelog and other than that I cannot be sure of changes

I've got the previous copy of the easements saved somewhere, I'm just hunting it down to do a comparison.

EDIT

SS4 is correct the new easements have been added at the bottom. I don't really want to trawl through the rest to see what else has changed.

700213 looks like a reworded version of 700208. Both are out of date.

I do wonder why they bother with some of the negative easements.

There is only one direct train from Pegswood to Alnmouth each day.

There are only two trains from Pegswood to Morpeth. Travelling this direction to get to Alnmouth involves changing at Newcastle and a 2 hour delay.

I can't find a route DIRECT ticket.

And how, pray tell, would you suggest they travel from Burton via Chesterfield without going via Derby? Another one to fix some broken routeing engine or other presumably.

Hmm, this seems to conflict with:
65 Journeys from Chathill, Alnmouth, Acklington, Widdrington, Pegswood, Morpeth, Cramlington and Manors to Berwick-upon-Tweed and stations in Scotland may double back from Newcastle on tickets routed "Any Permitted". This easement applies in both directions.
So from Chathill doubling-back via Morpeth is not allowed - but if I going all the way to Newcastle to double-back is OK?

Well, you could answer that in a number of ways, but ticket machines shouldn't offer routes for which the fare is not valid and thus it rarely crops up.
