its all for railfest which also involves
Railfest exhibits...
The movement of traction towards the National Railway Museum at York for the Railfest 2012 Event is underway with (at the time of writing) 31601 (HTLX) taking 50008 (MBDL) from Washwood Heath and 41001 (MBDL) from Neville Hill in today. 20312 (XHNC) is also due to arrive at York this afternoon from Tees. Other items due to make their way to York in the coming days include 57309 (XHAC) from Eastleigh with 47813 and 47853 (both XHHP), 37419 and 37425 (both XHHP) from Barrow Hill, Sarah Siddons from the LU, 56312 (HTLX), 57308 (IWCA) from Central rivers with 221144 - the two car training Voyager, 57604 (EFOO) with 43159 (EFPC) and Mk3 42353 which has been repainted into an original HST livery are coming up from the Western , 91110 (IECA) from the East Coast fleet a Class 380 EMU from Scotland, a GBRf Class 66/7 along with 92032 and a Class 395 Javelin unit

Why is the voyager being dragged? :?

Although the 2-car 221 as worked alone around central rivers on the final leg of last years charity charter around the depots lines, I think its not allowed under its own power on the mainline like that. (It was/(still is?) fitted with a compressor in one of the luggage areas which enabled it to move alone).

Im sure someone with clarifiy.

Ah right, id forgottern about 144! well as I live next to the line, I'm gonna try and get a shot, just jot to hope that my business exam finishes 1030 on the dot, then try to cut 5 minutes off the cycle home to get back in time :p

I didn't realise there was a 2 car Voyager around. Why is that?
When Arriva gained the Crosscountry franchise Virgin were allocated three 4-carriage 221s, 221142-144. They reformed two of these into five carriage trains so that they matched the main part of Virgins' fleet using the two intermediate carriages from the third unit. This left just the two driving cars from 221144.
