Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway tonight gave away amongst other things in their Win The Ads section, '£1000 in rail travel'. So what would you do with £1000? Blow it on a first class epic point-to-point? RJ to the max and still live off it years down the line? A bit of leisure travel here and there?

Off you go.

Donate it to SELRAP to annoy tbtc ;)

Well, with their amazing business case (the 6:1 ratio that they were boasting about, that we've sadly seen precious few details of), that should secure you £6,000 of rail travel* :)

(* - unless those figures were bogus...)

Two separate 7-day First Class All Line Rovers (with a railcard) and maybe a couple of West or East Midland Day Rangers or LM Great Escapes.

A 14 day rover would do me in whereas I can survive two one-week tickets, say a month apart.

I loved my 14 day ALR more than my 7 day ALR, but then two weeks of almost constant rail travel suits me just fine!

If I had a grand to spend on train travel, definitely a 7 day FC ALR. 14 days if I could top up the money to get it :)

Failing that, many day rangers/regional rovers!

Probably would do a 7 day 1st class ALR. Depends if the money comes as vouchers or cash - if that latter the rest would be used for an additional 1st dining trip with UK railtours! (I would be happy for the whole lot in UKR vouchers!)

That would keep me in regional rovers + FC advances to/from the area for quite some time. I can only usually get away on my own 4 weeks a years.

FC advances to/from Norwich and an Anglia Plus 3 day set me back just over £100 - excellent value for a 5 day trip.
