Southern reported this to be running as 10 coaches vice 12.

Were 442s deployed, or was it 2x377/6?

If 442s, were extra sets moved over from Brighton, or were two of the recently 'stored' units in Eastbourne sidings (or elsewhere) pressed back into service?

(I am aware there is a later train booked 2x442, but this appears to have run normally so it isn't a case of the Wessies being pushed onto the earlier working, with the later run cancelled.)

There was 377467/314/312 on the 1734 Victoria to Southampton/Bognor yesterday, so 10 vice 12, 467 for Southampton and 314/312 for Bognor. Not announced at Clapham Junction as short formed (like the earlier 1733 Ore which was 8 vice 12 with no announcement), so maybe those two threes ended up in Eastbourne attached to a 377/4.

Indeed, a more likely combination I hadn't considered. Not that 377/3s are regular visitors to East Coastway, these days.

It was 377314,377312,377448.
As earlier stated the 2 377/3's found themselves on the coast last night and that is a convenient diagram to get them back to get them swapped out as it goes ECS to streatham hill after

Quite rare to get a 377/3 (let alone 2x377/3) within an East Coastway mainline consist. I can recall a handful of occasions, at most, over eight years of commuting.

I also mentioned the 377/3s ended up on the coastway yesterday, I had them on my train home. Was a surprise, but annoying as a 10 car stops in a different place to a 12 car at Clapham Junction so really was annoying at the time.

Those two 442s (424 & 418) that have been stored in Eastbourne sidings went up to Stewarts Lane on Saturday morning, so it's just the 442s used for the peak-time London Bridge and return services that are currently using the sidings at the moment. I don't know when, or if, they'll be coming back down.
