To satisfy my curiosity, can anyone tell me what I saw this morning between Greenford Junction and South Greenford station at 1154hrs?

Having now looked at Google maps I reckon it was heading south towards Castle Bar Park station. I've tried finding it on OpenTrainTimes and must be getting something wrong as it just seems to be showing local FGW services into Paddington.

Don't really know anything about such locos but from the numbers I believe it may have been a Class 20 (in BR colours) pulling something in LUL livery, then what I thought might be another Class 20 in LUL livery...

Sounds like a delivery of the the new S stock, it normally has 2x20s on the front, a bogie tanker as a coupling converter, the S stock either 7 or 8 coaches, another tanker and 2 more 20s on th eback.

Maybe it was on the way back from a delivery then as there were only "3 car" (sorry don't know the right terminology) in length. Maybe the middle was a Class 20 too, though that just makes 3 Class 20s if it was?!

It sounds like it was the 20s and tankers running back then, the 20s are in various "liveries", some very nice and some very not!

It was the 3 class 20's (20142,20189 & 20227) running to Clapham to collect set 3417 for transit to Swanage.

5Z20 ran as 0Z20 after Gordon had a little barbecue, nothing serious and all fixed again, should be running toSwanage today instead.

Edit-

Didnt run as Gordon wouldnt release his brakes.

A fat bloke with a hammer has gone to have "a chat".

Is this the train?
Spot on! I only saw it sideways on as it thundered past though.

Trains are on OTT:

0Z20 1110hrs West Ruislip Depot (LUL) - Clapham Yard:

5Z20 1420hrs Clapham Yard - Swanage:
http://www.opentraintimes.com/schedule/U51957/2013-05-07

Nothing on OTT this morning for any return working from Swanage to Clapham Yard / West Ruislip though.
Thanks Dave, I did look on OTT yesterday to try and work out what/where it was, though I'm an amateur at best on that site so I'd only seached for South Greenford, assuming it would show up at that location as it went through there, but obviously not (or I still didn't do it right!)
