Some good hauls there!

02/02/2020

802107

Two more 802/1s to go (108 and 110) to go, my luck was not in with the rest of my available moves today. Had a winner 800 turn up, but sadly it was cancelled. Still, got some exercise during the waits and a ton of reading done, so it's not all bad!

Bring on the next red pen session!

Right now:

68013 Moor St - Stourbridge Jn 1K54

Thrashing away to some fine order.

Last Chiltern Cat in the book.

OK, so I don't actually have a book, but you all know what I mean!

195101 picked up enroute for Warrington and the monthly GP Quiz (in which I was 81st out of 179 thanks to some judicious/fortunate guesswork).

Not bad for 6 hours in Liverpool fair dos, especially considering there was a need to divert to MerseyRail for a 507/508 farewell too.

You’ve got quite a few more TPE 802 units to go. There are 19 of them.

Indeed, Kite advised me of the total last night when I asked him. I had assumed it was 12, still they're less spread out than the GWR ones so in theory they won't take as long to get.

I only have up to 397010 in my needs list too, which I suspect is also incorrect.

Theirs usually 1 or 2 parked up on longsight, 2 in service and 2 parked up at crewe LNWR and I think 1 at Preston, the rest are either on test or stored.

That is true, I reckon a good West Yorkshire Day Ranger (or even South Pennies) ranger will be good to get the TPE 802/68s with Leeds - Huddersfield leaps.
Even something like a Tyne & Tees day ranger will be a good shout for red pen action, Newcastle - Durham/Darlington leaps [bit more speed!] along with LNER azumas

[I know the 802s are possible on a Saveaway doing Lime Street - Newton Le Willows, but the connection isn't the best]

5 more 800/0s to go, considering only a month or so ago I needed 17 800/0s that's not too bad. And yes, I am still planning my next red pen hunt to potentially feature IETs...
