Was in Wales for the Maesteg bay platform at Bridgend, noticed this 769 was out so I intercepted it [well if you call catching a train to Hengoed to have a gentle walk along the old railway route towards Ystrad Mynach].
Annoyingly 007 looked like it came out to play later in the day, but was ungetable due to wanting to catch the 6pm service for a replacement bus avoidance move via Chippenham. That will have to wait for another trip, probably mixed up with some walking.

333006/333011 as a winning pair from Salford Central to Manchester Oxford Road. A half hour fester in the sun, and 333028 is a winning tailgunner to dud 333004 up to Hazel Grove.

Some 150s, a bus and a very pleasant hour spent touring the Heritage Shunter sheds at Rowsley (kopping D2289, now returned from the Giro D'Italia in the process), 25309 brought out the red pen again, with a sedate trundle to Matlock and back.

More bussage and sprinterage back to Manchester, where a pint was tempting, but a tram to Victoria for penultimate 195, 195117 home to Rochdale was more so.

A nice day, and I believe a new (to me) 03 is out at Embsay tomorrow...

Not bad for a short afternoon out on the Great Eastern, pretty much landed on 067 when I got to Liverpool Street (with 018 being the first train back towards London). 3 more of the GA 720s into my book, shame all the Southend services were single units when I was there. They can certainly shift, a 5 minute delay from Liverpool Street got cut down to 2 minutes by Romford, even with a ~ 90 second dwell at Stratford to load up all the shoppers.

RTT this morning threw up some good possibilities, so I went to West Yorks. Dud 195s there and back, but no less than 8 successive winners (and a couple of new shacks enroute) followed:
91114 to Wakefield
91130 back to Leeds
170454 to Horsforth, for a pint.
170456 back.
170457 out to Burley Park 35 minutes later
170475 back
331112 to Apperley Bridge
331105 back.

That's it for operable 91s for me I think. The missing two are 115 and scrapped 129.

Very nice for my last four Northern 170s to all be accessible in West Yorks, rather than arseing about on the Scarbados to Sheffield service as they often do.
