More than 250 business people in Greater Manchester have given their support to the Insider-backed Northern Hub campaign.

The Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has produced a postcard for business executives to send to the government to pledge their support.
The chamber said more than 250 signed postcards have been sent to transport secretary Justine Greening.

Emma Antrobus, transport policy manager at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said: "We have collected pledges of support from businesses across the region as the impact of the Northern Hub campaign will be felt by huge numbers of people across the North of the country.

"Once the components of the Hub are completed in full, journey times will be quicker between the cities of the North and with the greater movement of people and goods there will be a direct impact on the bottom line for many firms in our region."

If approved, the Northern Hub scheme will reduce journey times between Liverpool and Manchester and could boost the region's economy by £4.2bn.

Couldn't this join an existing thread on the subject?

Let's not turn this into the new Wrexham! ;)
