31166 up for sale

31166 has been put up for sale - it is the only loco based on the Wensleydale Railway I think now, the 37's left a few months ago

Anyone know if any other locos will go to the Wensleydale Railway soon or if the line will be DMU only for the foreseeable future?

There an advert for the sale on wnxx - heres what is said about it

After a lot of deliberation and a change in direction with regards to other locomotives owned 31166 currently residing on the Wensleydale Railway is being made available for sale. The locomotive is described as being basically sound but in need of its cylinder liner seals replacing. Monies raised by the sale of 31166 will go towards other locomotives awaiting restoration.

According to the article it's in decent condition but just needs a Cylinder Lining replacement.

That article/advert is about 31166 which I know worked the some of summer LoCo hauled services on the Wensleydale last year

Good- the Wensleydale should still be able to run occassional loco hauled trains then
