313121 Thameslink testing

313121 made its first run onto thameslink metals today with a test run from Willesden to London Blackfriars and back.

I assume this is related to ATO testing? Is the equipment already in situ or is this more just a preliminary run?

Prelim run. Not going through the core just yet.

It is testing the ETCS kit (not ATO), all the balises are in and the Radio Block Centre is up and ready to run.

ATO testing needs the 700s. But then they are not very far away...

Departing on 21st and arriving on the 29th as long as GTR accepts the depot from the contractors by then. All signalling complete and commissioned as of 04:00Hrs 13/07/15 (although no ones got a clue how to work it yet but that's another story).

Surely the new signalling system just needs to be plugged in and switched on, once some silly sod removes his iPhone charger that he thinks he has a human right to use?!

Booked to run in the Core this morning with bi di working.
