They started installing destination blinds on the 323s as part of the fleet refurbishment but only have DMU ones with most of the 323 destinations missing. The last couple of refurbished units have had no destination blind installed but have had the cab end screens removed.

The majority of the original electronic boards never worked properly, much easier to install standard blinds until a fleet-wide standard display is rolled out.

Indeed the screens are/were in a variety of states showing:

Nothing but a green smudge
Disco Screen alternating from showing lots of random symbols to the trains destination
part of the text missing
Destination but no number
a number but no destination
Destination with no backlight
Destination but with parts of the text showing random symbols

and the side screens have been covered up since the First North Western refurbishment in circ 2003 having been long defunct.

323235 did have a full compliment of 6 x Orange LED destinations screens with one on the cab end displaying half the text because of a fault.
