If no one can provide them, a possible option for you is to determine them yourself using Real Time Trains and platform / unit matching. Most of the Waterloo to Reading diagrams will be self-contained - ie just repeating trips from Waterloo to Reading all day.

With SWR's stock shortages, I don't think many at SWR know what will run at the moment. 4 car 450s have been appearing over the past month or so but not on any pattern. The diagrams seem to change on a daily basis so you'll have to check RTT on the day.

The 450 diagrams seem fairly consistent so if any 4 car formations are found it'll probably be a short form of a booked 8 car 450.

Indeed, looking at today's services, Waterloo to Reading has four 10-458 formations, two 8-455 formations and one 4-450 formation. It looks like the booked 10-458 formations were swapped with 8-455 as the latter can't do the short platforms on the Weybridge route. The Waterloo to Reading diagrams on a Saturday would be expected to be self-contained usually.

There have been class 455 diagrams since at least last summer to Reading. Normally in 8/10 car formations but single sets do sometimes appear.

Do the 458s normally run the Waterloo-Reading services. If not what are their regular turns?

I don't think there will have been 455s in 10-car formations to Reading for obvious reasons. Has a 456 ever run to Reading?

Only one 8-car cycle today, and it is 450s, 450039+450082 on 0620, 0950, 1320, 1650, 2020 from Waterloo to Reading. The other six cycles are 10-458.

You can't run a 455+455+456 formation to Reading, because of the short platforms that only take 8-car formations (Longcross, Winnersh, Winnersh Triangle, Earley). That's both because of the lack of SDO and because in one direction you'd have the 456 off the platform with no access to the rest of the train.

You can't even run 455+456+456 to Reading, the maximum permitted formation is a 6-car when a 456 is involved. I don't think any have run in service beyond Ascot.

Auto correct that I didn't see. Should have read "do 458s normally work Waterloo-Reading? If not where do they operate?"
Yes, Waterloo to Reading is where 458s typically work, together with other services on the 'Windsor' side - eg Hounslow loop and Weybridge services.

Interesting, may I ask why?

I do not know for sure, but doesn't the guard always operate the doors from the front of the rear unit? So the 6th vehicle of a 5+5 formation or 5th vehicle of a 4+4. For a 4+2+2 formation that would be the 7th vehicle which may present a sight problem on some curved platforms?

most are now lengthened to 10, but Earley, Winnersh and Winnersh Triangle still 8, but Longcross is now restricted to seven.
Although it can take an 8-car 455 for which a separate stop mark is provided.
