Not sure about this one but some of the rovers out there offer 4 from 8 instead of consecutive days. Does anyone know how the tickets issued or are they separate and do you have to nominate which of the 4 days you wish to travel?

They are issued as two coupons.

The first coupon is the ticket.

The second coupon has four boxes on it. You must write the date in the box before you start travelling on your first journey of the day you decide to travel, but you don't need to decide the four days in advance. Use a permanent marker not a biro, as biros sometimes struggle to mark the type of card used for tickets.

They are supposed to be two part - just make sure you get two parts. Some stations use ticket issuing systems that don't print them out properly - unless they have prehistoric rover stock with pre-printed boxes. Like this, for example.
