Apparently 2421 is being used as a spares (oh dear). Its motor bogies went to 2416 where Ma scanlon paired with 2411 on Satruday failed at Waterloo. 2411 is fine but Doreens back at Bournemouth. Expect the workings next week to be slashed by at least Half.

2414 left for Ilford this morning.

Word has it that 73136 has been contracted by GBRF for movement to Easlteigh. As the pigs come off lease and go to Eastleigh for Storage. They will go under their own power (those that work) to Eastleigh but the 73 will shunt them into the depot.

Just a random question, but why is 2416 called "Mum in a Million 1996 Doreen Scanlon", did she pay NSE a lot of money, or did she rescue her son from falling in front of a train or something?

I beleive it was something to do with the national compettion that was run to find the hardest working, or bravest mother in the UK. and for that year one of the prizes was that the winner would have a train named after her.

If someone has any more info then feel free to add.

Now this intrestingly brings round to the question. Will SWT name (as the tradition goes) the 444's with Certain names along the Waterloo - Weymouth Route. As they did with the REPS. I beleive one was called The New forest. Cant remember the rest.

Names are being removed from the Pigs at a rapid rate, 4 or 5 done in the two weeks. Will they reappear on the 444s...? It's a good possibility!

It doesnot surprise me as they have to get the 444's cascaded from the Pompey line as I have been told so this weekend could see the Pigs services cut by at least half to about 6 or less.

Room for one more tomorrow? I'm trying to organise a bash with some uni friends but they all seem to be busy. I have a gold card to make first class a bit cheaper than the SWT upgrades.
