I recieved an email from some Rachel yesterday on 47853

Hi All

The charter with 6233 Duchess arrived in platform 2 at 18:58. 47853 followed
shortly after which had been parked up in Westwood yard. The driver passed
the RED ground signal on the approach to the platform. He immediately
braked but had passed by the signal by a loco's length.

The orange jackets arrived with the Rail Incident vehicle, with photos taken
of the ground signal, loco and track.

The road had been set and no danger to the train or passengers, but it took
about 50 minutes before they would let it forward.

Meanwhile platform 2 blocked by the delay. 47853 finally dragged coaches and
the Duchess north, to where I do not know.

Charter 47703 with 47709 on rear headed into platform 4 at 19:56

Interesting!!!!!

Regards Rachel
Woah, that is quite surprising to see that happen

Na, just the suits going after railtours. There was a tour had a SPAD whilst shunting to form the train in Old Oak last year and the whole tour was cancelled before it begun

Chaps,

All SPADs are treated seriously, irrespective of the type of train it is, the type of signal passed and whether or not any risk was posed to passengers or staff.

So you won't get taken off the road, interviewed and med-screened if you happen to slip a few feet past a "Stop for Orders" board in a depot when shunting an empty train...?
