Hi, this is my first post, I have recently become a born again Rail Enthusiast, due partly to the recent appearance of class 68s. My previous incarnation was in the late sixties.

I have a few questions that members may be able to answer.

I live in Linlithgow and have noticed that there is a Class 68 that passes at about 19 40 each evening. I presume this is going back to Mossend or wherever for carriage cleaning .However there are 2 loco hauled sets in Edinburgh (one on the Fife Circle and one on the Edinburgh/Cardenden service) The thing is where does the other one go (Craigentinny?)

There is also an intermodal from Inverness to Mossend leaving Inverness just after 1300. This appears to be being hauled by 68001 Evolution, as this is the only 68 in Scotland (68001 to 68007)that I haven't seen yet.

Does anybody know what time this passes through Larbert or Stirling, or point me in the right direction to find out on the Interweb.

The Fife diagrams are based at motherwell. One goes back via Linlithgow the other via Slateford after working back to edinburgh.

5 is about the norm up here at the moment.

2 for the Fife diagrams
2 on intermodals
1 spare

Normal working is one works Grangemouth-aberdeen intermodals
One on the inverness job

001-007 are the usual group working off motherwell/carlisle with 008-015 working off crewe/wembley

Welcome from another Lithgae member!

It has always seemed to me that the Fife LHCS has a very high proportion of non-revenue earning mileage..

Another fan of the 68s, they really are impressive machines!

Welcome back to the hobby!

I did not think that it was possible to love an engine after steam, but these really are impressive. Probably more so in the DRS or Scotrail liveries. The Chiltern livery seems a bit drab, although I haven't seen one live yet.

I agree, perhaps they could have made these trains Fife to Linlithgow, Polmont and Falkirk in the evening and the other way round in the morning.

Similar to the old Fife Coast Express of blessed memory.

Thanks for the info. I am trying to curb my enthusiasm, but found myself at Mossend at the weekend
