Last night 70016 (heavy haul) worked to Felixstowe (or Ipswich) on an intermodal from Ditton (?). Think it was around Midnight at Willesden. It returned around midday today (Saturday 26/05/2012) but via Peterborough presumably because there is engineering works between Chelmsford and Shenfield.
Keep an eye out any heavy haul starved class 70 spotters from the South. see what happens during the week as other FLHH 70s are hanging around Crewe and most of intermodals 70s (all but one ?) are out of traffic. I thought this was due to the nature of intermodal work but perhaps the heavy haul ones have more life in them as a result ?.
