Yeh I saw that on a Top Gear repeat a few months ago. Poor 2CV I say!!!
I also saw an American version of the same "experiment", as it was a mystery investigation programme trying to find out if it was possible a taxi running along the perimeter fence of the airport could get blown into a ravine or something, or was it a mafia hit?, In the end it proved it could have been true that it was blown by a 747.
Mythbusters! Discovery Channel. Excellent programme!
That is incredable, but i have a better story
My granddad has actually had this happen 2 him at a USAF base in the UK, in the 70s. He worked for an electric motor company (Newmans) and he was working on some hanger door motors at this air base. He had an old ford anglia or something and he had finsihed for the day. He was driving out of the base, the route of which involved crossing the main runway. It was dark and as got to the crossing point and checked the 'traffic' lights, which where set at green. He started to cross when 'WHHHOOOOOOOSSSSH', his car was suddenly rocked and then pushed sideways by 'something'. He looked to where he had just been pushed from and saw 2 afterburners climbing into the sky!
Before he could even think about what he should do he saw headlights from all over the palce and half a mintue later he was surrounded by jeeps with armed soldiers
hock:
They took him to the base commanders office where he got a bollocking and he was detained. But he wasnt arrested or treated badly, as they where partly to blame-as the control tower hadnt switched the traffic lights to red. After a few calls to his boss he was free to go and his car was recovered and was still perfectly drivable
. Shaken, he went back to his hotel and was back on the base the next day!
Although this time he was escorted to/from the worksite!
A true story, i assure you!
He never found out what jet it was though
, and why it had
no lights on takeoff!!! Makes ya think dont it!
