90020 has been outshopped from Toton in a "fresh" coat of EWS paint. It is has lost it's "Sir Micheal Heron" (once a Post Office manager-in the days of TPO's) nameplates, and is apparently due to get a different name, though unknown as yet.

Yeah. I saw it sometimes before it's repaint and it was a bit of a disgrace with paint coming off all over the place.

Cheers,
Andrew

Can't have been as bad as that 37 we had at the East Somerset last year, with grey tape filling in for a lack of grey paint!

That was Duck tape.

I think thats what held together the exaust as well, as that triple header on the saturday was quite thrashable.

There's a pic of 90020 in its shiny new paint at http://www.wnxx.com/ under the latest news section. Looking very nice but probably won't stay that good for long when it starts doing 110 down the west coast!

Cheers,
Andrew

Can't do 110mph if its on the XC services - Mk2 is 100mph ;) Could go on the Wolverhampton - Euston services though.

LOL! - Officially!!

OK, on the XC maybe 100mph is tops, as there isn't much straight line on the Manchester- Brum, but with the mk3's on the Wolves / Brum (& Glasgow, Manchester & Stockport of late) I can assure you 110mph isn't the "max speed", Apparenty back in the 80's it wasn't uncommon for 86's to get up to around 120mph with mk2's! and Ive travelled on 87's down the WCML that have, according to GPS tracking (my dads Navman) have done between 115 - 116 mph on the coast, with the dvt leading. - But even on the last days of 47's on the XC I read an article by the person who does the speed calculations, I cant remember the guy's name, but he said when going down Lickey the 47 with load 5 mk2's was bombing along at around 110mph!!
