I was recently Browsing railcam when I saw that 92016 had been user allocated to a Wembley - Euston service, with 92006 at the helm. Given that 92016 is in cold storage (?) I figured this must just be an error, correct?

Yep. 92016 has been stored since September 2017 with a cracked transformer IIRC

A shame. I think I knew it was an error but part of me was hoping DB was getting more dysons out from storage. An empty hope it seems

Thats a caledonian sleeper service anyway a dbc class 92 wouldn't end up on that.

DB 92s are physically incapable of hauling the sleeper: they’d need coupler and ETH changes.
