Does anyone know about the reference part of the process. I’ve been told it’s simply has this person worked for you and the dates of employment?

Cheers buddy. Just wondered how long it would take for my current employer to send back should I be successful after interview but as it’s nearly a week now I’m not optimistic!

As previously reported it can take up to a few weeks to hear back, sometimes longer. Sit tight, be patient and stay calm! ;)

Best of luck with it.

If it’s the three Bridges interview then you’re not going to hear back till first or second week in July. At least that’s what the LOM said

I was told the latest would be 2-3 weeks in mine, possibly sooner depends on the LOM and how busy she is etc....

Was mentioned that things would move fast as they have to get everything done (medical/references, offer accepted signed/returned etc) to ensure candidates have enough time to hand in resignation to current employer (for most this will be mid to end of July I.e 4-6weeks)

Just a waiting game!

Is anyone else still waiting on a response re Leominster and Ledbury boxes? Applied for both, but leominster (applied in March) has been sat at "under consideration for assessment 2" for a couple of months now, and Ledbury has been sat at "test completed" since May. I know things take time with NR, but the Leominster one in particular does seem extremely slow!

I've got a fair few for various different locations that are displaying the same level of inactivity. It's frustrating because I am aware interviews have already taken place, and the jobs dished out, for at least one position that I've had sat at 'Application Under Consideration' for months now. If they've been dishing the jobs out for this particular position a fortnight ago, surely they can just be done with the rest of us rather than leaving us hanging on needlessly waiting and wondering if we even have an interview?
HR have told me that several of my applications are currently 'on hold' by the Hiring Manager.....I think that is code for 'better luck next time kidda' :D Just got to keep on keeping on, as they say!

Hi Charlski

Mine are exactly the same as yours. Keep on hanging in there. It is frustrating though.

You never can tell if the interviews have happened or not, externally it seems. You just have to wait till they update the system saying "Unsuccessful".

On the other hand there can be big delays so never give up. I applied for a Grade 2 last October and did not get called for interview until May and ended up being offered the job! The wait can be very long and the interviews can come out of nowhere, you can never know what internal delays there may have been.

Thanks for that Cerebral, gives me hope.

Completely unrelated, but may be of use for someone on here -
When I have been researching for interviews, I've sometimes found it a bit of a faff trying to find exactly which TOC's operate through a station. I've recently stumbled across this easy way - On the network careers website, career search page, if you click on map view and find the station in question, clicking on it will list the TOC's that run through there. Might be of help to somebody.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if you get selected and you start the 12 week residential training, do you get weekends off to visit home or is it permanently there for the 12 weeks?

If it’s in Watford I could easily commute there and back each day.

Thanks

Have you even bothered to read the thread? I saw you had posted a thread and the guy advised you to read the thread, where you can find everything you just asked.

If you read my thread then you would notice on the thread that I posted that I couldn’t access the site as it returns a 404 error, either server was down or link has changed to what is on the page. I’ve tried reading through this thread and haven’t yet come across what I have been trying to find out.

Forgive me but your post seems a bit rude seeing as I was politely asking a question, I believe that is what this forum was designed for to help others.

There is no longer a signalling school in Watford I believe. Signallers usually trained at york, basingstoke or coventry (westwood). I think york has the most courses.

You will need to stay at the hotel where the school is Monday to Friday. From what people say the revision and additional simulator practice on an evening as a group (as well as having a chat/socialising together) is important

But you want to embark on a career that requires you to do some thinking for yourself and plenty of self study. The information is there, it's up to you to find it. Otherwise this forum would just be the same questions asked on repeat

Hello Nathan,
with the residential training NR will put you up in a hotel from Sunday night through Thursday night, every week for 12 weeks. you head home for the weekend Friday after class. there are only 3 training centres - York, Coventry, and Basingstoke.

Does anyone know anything about Whissendine SB. Which toc uses the line and what form of signalling is involved??

The references and job offer is normally done by email.
