Hi all. Myself and a friend travelled down to D.B. Schenker's Toton Traction Maintenance Depot in Nottinghamshire on Friday 19th February. We went to the depot for an arranged visit to be shown around the depot. All the photographs and more information can be found in the links provided below.

The Locotmotives: Toton T.M.D. has many stored locomotives on site including many disused Class 08s, 37s, 56s, 58s and a massive chunk of Class 60s. Below are photographs of most of the locomotives that are stored / stabled within the depot that may see a possible life back out on the British railway tracks again.

Nice photos.

Looks like it was a good day out. How did you arrange the visit? I'd love to arrange a visit to one of the yards. Most likley the D.B Schenker (I think it's theres) in Derby or the EMT yard in Derby

It's all about how many good contacts you have working within the railway industry who then organise access to places without yourself and themselves getting into any bother. My friend organised this visit and invited me along. As some of you may know trains are not one of my main focuses and interests of mine within the railway though it has to be said toyon is a fantastic place. I think even a non railway enthusiast would quite like the depot if bey had access just simply because of how big it is and of how much history the depot contains. A few friends of mine (more into the trains than I am) wanted me to go down and capture the photographs for gem and stick all that I took onto a disk. If anyone on here would like a copy (high res files) then please feel free to get in touch with myself via e mail - [email protected]

Best Regards
