Excellent news. Does anyone have the rest of this diagram? It seems to go back to the depot at some point so I'm struggling to track it.
It does go to the depot around 1240 ish, but I am not sure if the 1540 and 1710 services are worked by the same unit. Need 418 for traction still. I believe 413 and 417 have now been accepted as well.

They look extremely snazzy and smart. When you see a 153 parked next to one they look even better. It will be a major major upgrade for those used to the old diesel fleet.

744 418 is just about to leave Great Yarmouth so is out and about today.
The units really are a step up, capacity, facilities and acceleration wise are a significant improvement.
It was interesting to see that the extending step on the front set of doors still didn't reach the platform edge at Great Yarmouth.
Luggage wise, there is a lack of signpostimg where the luggage stacks are and people seem very reluctant to use the overhead racks - is this a common theme on most stock? Due to the layout there is also a lot of space under the seats.

Are the guards not responsible for any part of dispatch on these units? We appeared to have a guard who didn't exit the doors between stops, just remained in the carriage but there were other staff being supervised so not sure of they were doing anything!

Overall massive improvement from the 153 earlier!

The guard operates the TRS (train ready to start) button on the platform then must board the train in good time. They can close the doors only if there is a equipment failure but in normal working it's all driver operated.

Surely if they're running diesel to Cambridge they, er, need to cover up the sign saying otherwise? I appreciate the drivers should know about restrictions, but the whole point of the signs is to remind and ensure clarity

I will endeavour to find out more. Last week it was a no but hey a week is a long time on the railway
It was running on diesel today on that section. Still seemed plenty faster at accelerating than the 170s though on that section, you are lucky on them to even hit line speed.

I've also spotted 12 car *745* stop boards at Ely, interestingly...

The ethos of the sign (given the warning triangle) seems to perhaps be "Do not continue on electric power to Bury St Edmunds", as opposed to "You should change to electric mode if going to Cambridge"?

Much as with there being FLU/RLU stop boards for Thameslink, it means they've thought things through and so in cases of disruption if they have a suitably trained driver, an Ely terminating service (there's three in peak time) and a Stansted 745 sitting at Liverpool street they can run that through Cambridge- is my guess.

Looks like 418 is misbehaving this morning. 0836 Yarmouth caped with the short haul putting in an appearance from 1036.

That seems odd, I can't see any route from there that requires a change in power.
Milton neutral section is just on the Ely side of Cambridge North. There where ongoing issues with power supply between here & Littleport since GN started extending fast Cambridge terminators to Ely. Not saying this is the reason, just a guess.

If you were inclined to guess a little further, do "supply issues" = voltage drop? I've been told, (by the electrification installation team at a Colchester open day) that when the Stowmarket feeder was offline the voltage in the area dropped to 16.5 kV, which wasn't such a problem back then. Today's electronically controlled rolling stock may not be so tolerant as 86's, etc.
