I notice the absence of a pantograph cam light on the FLIRT. Is there no cam, or does it use a IR camera for night-time vision?

You saw the whole thing including the skirt? It may have been a 172. Then again if it was a 170, it was probably visiting Bombardier workshop.

Looks like the first 745/1 will arrive this Thursday. May be hard to view after this as looks like it will be stabled inside the shed.

SPZ for the 755 cancelled tonight (27th/28th), and a discussion in the morning to see if the day trips will run. (28th)

Uploaded to YouTube by South East Train Hub. I presume the whine is from the unpowered motors?

Just saw that the Bi modes will be able to run at the dmu line speed between Maryland and Shenfield.

When if ever are the bimodes going to be working in the area. I think I saw the first few months of the Norwich in 90 services will be 755 operated, but other than that it's going to be pure EMUs surely?

having found the most up to date version of the Sectional Appendix for that part of the line, it is slightly confusing that the higher speed is marked as DUM (in most cases) but then there's a note stating that classes 321, 322, 360 and 379 plus Class 90s hauling or propelling mark 3 coaches may use the higher speed (not 317s? omission?)

I'd imagine there will be little issue in updating that to include Class 720, 754 and 755.

There are four services per day to/from Lowestoft via the East Suffolk Line.

This dates back to when 321s and 322s were first permitted to do 90mph, while 312s and 317s were restricted to 80mph, due to their pantograph design. Easier then to do a footnote but as time goes on it looks more and more confusing.

Are 755's likely to be used on Harwich and Walton / Clacton locals? If so I wonder how one would cope at Wivenhoe Colchester bound with their centre doors and the bend in the platform? Would be a hell of a gap

No plans. It would mean training all Clacton & more Colchester drivers on Stadler too.
