755's now cleared for Somerleyton Bridge, and can run with one pan raised Liverpool Street - Norwich, allowed 2 pans up Stowmarket to Trowse

Is the single pan restriction a temporary one? Is some fix required to the pantographs or Overhead line equipment to allow 2 pantographs to be raised? Clearly Class 317, 321 and 360's are all allowed 2 pantographs up for the full length of the route.

I seem to recall mention of 2 engines around the 750bhp mark ie 1500 bhp which should be enough to shift these things around the Wireless sections of Anglia I would have thought.

They are still under test, and are not GA's yet, in time the restriction I assume will be lifted,

As they are still under test, and not part of GA yet, restrictions will apply for various things until tested, and cleared, once everything is sorted, and all OK, then GA will accept them into the fleet :) there were some route restrictions at Colchester and Norwich over various sets points, these have been lifted too, however there are more to go yet, as each test run gets completed, no doubt something else is 'signed off' :)

What is the current betting we will see a 755 or two running the Norwich in 90? I would have thought these units should have been accepted by now to make that happen?

Think that is the plan, if not will be a Hauled set :) which it has to be said did 'Norwich to London in 100' the other day, and that included 4 stops en route

Easily achievable Swills mate when you've got the right people on duty & a clear run ;)

The 15:30 up and 17:50 back were today advertised as 6 coach’s no First Class. Shortened set as a prelude to May perhaps?

Does anyone know the route they take through Europe? Also how they get through the tunnel? Do they come through dragged on their own or just coupled to the back of one of the freights? Just out of interest.

No, just defective vehicles locked out of use. 17:50 can be full & standing with a load 9 so makes sense to remove Colchester from the calling pattern.

745104 will be doing a test trip tonight, 37 hauled to Diss then SPZ running Diss - Trowse - Diss, then 37 hauled back to Crown Point, not sure it's had any successful runs yet ?

5Q11, 12, 13 and then 14 back to Norwich

|TRUST says 1P52 called at Colchester 42 to 43, but arrived Manningtree 3 early, so not sure that report is correct, (its also a manual report ! )

Saw the Class 745 sat outside Crown Point today- as it is a Stansted Express unit, I was surprised to see Cycle markings on it, as I was given to understand at the last GA Cycle Forum that the Stansted Express version would have 0 cycle spaces? Seen on the train I was on: a driver (I think) travelling pass taking photos of it as we passed :P

Norwich LL?

How many miles need to be accumulated before trains can start entering service?

I was going to ask that myself. If you get much lower down than Norwich Thorpe station, the train crew would need sub-aqua breathing apparatus! :D:D

Low Level / Royal Dock

It will indeed need a drink, mid shift, sort of a PNB :) but assume that will be part of the diagram, between workings a quick nip into the fuelling point for a quick top up -)

Must be more than that (a lot more) ? 500 miles is barely half a days work for a unit
For the Hitachi 385s it was 2000 miles fault free running for acceptance.
Not sure if the requirement for the FLIRT bi-modes is 2000 total, in each mode or some other figure.

Every unit though, or just the first? From my recollection the first unit is given a more stringent target as it's assumed that is sufficient to demonstrate the units are sufficiently reliable, the 500 miles for subsequent units simply to prove they don't have any major unit-specific defects out of the box, rather than waste energy / fuel running 2000 miles of testing for each unit, which rapidly adds up to a vast amount of mileage on big fleets.
