Acton Mainline / West Ealing / Hanwell are closed from 24th December to 1st January inclusive. My initial assumption was this was to allow progress to be made on their new station buildings. However, observing West Ealing on 29th December I didn't see significant changes. All the stations above have no platforms on the fast/main lines and are typically closed when flexibility is needed to run services on the fast lines of needed. Tfl published several notices regarding signalling issues affecting the Paddington - Heathrow / Hayes & Harlington services on 28th December. Is this a coincidence or was the purpose of closing these stations to allow signalling tests (possibly in relation to 345s running to Heathrow)?
