Afternoon all.
On Saturday 2nd December I have an open ticket from Euston to Manchester. I discovered yesterday that I need to go to Preston and not Manchester. Obviously any sane person would just get their ticket changed. However, my ticket has been supplied by work so it starts becoming a bit more complicated (or perhaps not?). Basically i'm meeting friends in Preston on my return from a work trip to London.
I have staff travel and am able to travel from Warrington or Wigan to Preston at no charge with my TOC. My question is whether it would be acceptable to travel from Euston to Manchester 'via' Wigan or Warrington, or only on a direct Manchester service/one stopping at Crewe. If I can change at Wigan or Warrington i'll just get off and continue up the WCML....
In fact, ideally I'd just get on the Preston service at Euston with my Manchester ticket and then continue the journey from Warrington on my TOC card. I hope this makes sense and is not rambling nonsense!
