I was well aware of what's on their website in February. As far as I am aware only one other post (post 3) has flagged up the discrepancy between the thread title and what the website says. No-one else has. The OP or Mods should have amended the thread title to accurately reflect the content of the website. How about "Travel Vlog on travelling to/through every GB Station served by a TOC stopping service". Funky title, eh.;)

This is getting farcical now - there are way more important things to get worried about in life at the moment.

Nowhere near enough to a Pacer :(
I have never read such shear venom and spite towards a project from such a narrow minded bunch of posters. Fare enough ask questions and speculate, we does a lot of that on here but the general level of nastyness displayed here is alarming and depressing.

I was under the impression this was a forum to discuss railways and why we all love them, work on them, appreciate them and more. On that basis a project that promotes and enlightens about the current day state of the network is to be welcomed? Oh no, certain trolls on here have to do what they do and spoil it.

I'll make no secret that its upset me to the point Im thinking of leaving the forum as this and so many other threads turn into squabbles and an opportunity for those with their heads stuck up their own backsides to bost.

I am surprised anyone dislikes the videos that much, especially when it was crowd funded.

In other words, nobody has paid a penny. If they got any free tickets, or were given opportunities that you or I may not have got, I think they earned it from what was clearly a lot of hard work.

I doubt they got rich from it, unless all the hotels were free (I suspect not, as they weren't mentioned and thus didn't get any free advertising) and they were given free food and drink, but if they did make anything over and above then good on them.

If such a venture wasn't successful, not only would they never do it again but nor would anyone else ever consider doing the same thing.

Hear hear, well said blind traveller,I have read this thread with a mixture of mild amusement to a weary sense of deja vue, from the posters who seem miffed that they also did the project but didn't think to YouTube it or did it before the internet existed to those who resent the fact that it's being funded by other people.
I have watched a lot of their output this summer and have enjoyed it,just as I enjoy reading the where have you been section on this forum,I don't feel jealous or resentful that other people can afford the time and/or money to get out there and see stuff.
So to the naysayers I suggest there's nothing stopping you crowdfunding a project,I myself am thinking of "all the Greek islands",any contributions gratefully received.

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.
On a brighter note I believe today could be their final day if not tomorrow at latest. Congratulations to Geoff and Vicki who yesterday were at the last hurdle. They have certainly inspired me to get out of London more often and explore the UK Railway!

(apologies if it has already been stated that this weekend is their final one).

Geoff posted a picture from Inverness early this morning with the departure board for the 0700 to Wick. Which means that they've just left Thurso and are on the final stretch, one station left!

Can I suggest that you put these posters on ignore?

I for one value your contributions here and wouldn't like to see you leave because of a minority of morons.

Expressing a negative viewpoint about something is not trolling. If you find elements on this thread depressingly negative then you should perhaps visit somewhere like a train crew mess room. Part of life is that you will be exposed to a variety of different viewpoints about a given topic, giving you the ability to consider all of the arguments, challenge them if you wish, and form your own conclusion on the issue.

With respect some of the criticism here goes beyond what I think is normal.

If it doesn't interest you why bother posting in this thread at all?

It's kind of daft continuing to discuss something you've already said you've no interest in!

As to how people react - we are all different. We can all be negative about things in life, but many people can take that kind of thing more seriously than others and repeatedly expressing a negative opinion about something is rather sad to be honest - as I said before there are far more important things in life to get upset about.

Everyone has there own interest, and clearly quite a large number of people are interested in the project. I'd just say leave it - you've clearly expressed your view, I don't see the need to keep on doing it?

Pointing out a factual inaccuracy in a thread's title is not a criticism.

What's begining to grate on me is that some are complaining about others using others cash to fund a project, which I find a bit rich considering that there are some on here who are socialists who are complaining about a couple who have in-a-way used socialism to fund this project.

As a libertarian, I can't see why people are having to be bitter about having, on average, 15 minutes worth of footage of two people visiting stations that is uploaded on a twice weekly basis. There's bound to be more footage that we haven't yet seen and this I presume will be part of the eventual documentry once all the footage has been collected.

No longer here
Meanwhile, Geoff and Vicki are nearly finished on their very successful project, while a handful of people continue to bitch about it.

Haters are losers.

It's a debatable fact, one which has been thoroughly debated over and over and over and over and over and over again in this thread.

Meanwhile:
though they got the 0700, as ever they've got off and on en route and are now at Georgemas

As far as I am aware only one other post (post 3) has flagged up the discrepancy between the thread title and what the website says.

Which should make it glaringly obvious that the vast majority are neither bothered, nor care. Given you keep repeating it and it is affecting you so much, I can only assume you have reported post #1 in order to ask the mods to change it?

Now that they've completed the project, what now for this thread? ;) ;)

I imagine the same couple of posters will continue to post in here to tell everyone else that I DID IT BETTER and THAT NOT GETTING OFF MEANS IT DOESNT COUNT or even THEY DIDNT DO ALL OF THE STATIONS.

Haterz gonna hate.

And... they've done it!

Finished at wick on a late-running service earlier this evening!

Very happy for them - and they've (unintentially) completed it on the final day of operation for South West Trains after 21 years! Very eventful day!

It's a shame - some people are the same on twitter. They've spent months working hard to complete one task, and have shown commitment and dedication to their goal. They have highlighted the positive nature of our railways and have brought together a community with the shared interest of watching them progress towards their goal! It upsets me that, despite all of this, people feel the need to criticise because it "wasn't done properly" or "I did it better than them!" as, even if this is their belief, this is the last thing they need on a very positive day for them!

They were quite lucky that service didn't go straight to Wick with a minibus to Thurso [guess it is down to driver hours]

So what if they didn't "visit" all the stations in the true sense of the word, they called at all* the stations in GB (*request stops where the train didn't stop not counted), hopefully introducing the passengers of tomorrow to go out and explore the country.

What next for this thread? Personally I feel it should be locked and anyone wanting to discuss the future documentary and whatnot can start a new thread as the amount of negative crap from 2 in particular will soon enough show up on google searches and shed bad light on the entire project which is not what they need.

I think it shouldn't need to come to that.

Mind you I think the pair have been enjoying the fizzy water this fine evening with the amount of tweets coming out.
