Alternative/split to Liverpool to Birmingham Super Off Peak Return?

I've worked out the cheapest ticket is a Liverpool - Birmingham Super Off Peak Return at £21.80 (with a railcard). However this carries a lot of time restrictions, both in the morning and the evening.

I know there is an Off Peak Return for £27.80 (with railcard) but is anyone aware of any splits/alternatives to the Super Off Peak Return that will make the total nearer to the £21.80 price mark?

Feel free to DM me if you prefer. Outward and return travel will be on different days. Anytime Advances are not an option as I won't know the dates of travel in Advance and need an "open" return.
