:?: Are season tickets between Altrincham and "Metrolink City" valid for travel via Sale, via Stockport, or both?

    Yes season tickets are available.

However, Altrincham to Metrolink City is valid via Sale only. Altrincham to Manchester CTLZ is also available and valid via Stockport only.

Think the ticketing sold by t'interchange needs sorting out.

Ideally with Metrolink now using RSP-type BR tickets it's a shame they cannot simply print onto yellow Metrolink stock for those tickets.

The lack of interchangeable tickets was given as a reason for not introducing a Northwich-Altrincham shuttle, in addition to the current Manchester-Chester service. Northern Rail felt they would lose revenue as more people would buy tickets for Metrolink City tickets, so Network Rail rejected the proposal for a Northwich-Altrincham shuttle until at least GMPTE sorted out interchangeable tickets. They still haven't done anything.
