There is podcast called Freewheeling had Andrew Haines on a few days back but only published today which is worth 40mins of anyones time if your interested where GBR is headed and Andrews thoughts.

Sounds like nothing will change in a hurry but from his chair but he reckons by next spring there will be a shadow organisation but could take upto two years before legislation is approved depending on parliamentary time to allow the formal organisation to be established.
Unsurprisingly he says operators and NR need to collaborate now to do what they can to improve the lot of the passenger and freight uses.
Has fairly strong view on the performance regime and sch 8 as being an issue in the way the railways have been managed but doesn't mean delay attribution will go away it will be used in a more positive way in future.
Says ridership close to 60% now and some routes seeing very high leisure growth but commuting and business travel still in the doldrums but his view is we don't know where thats going to end up just yet to be able to react accordingly.
Anglia are the top operator and highlights there ability to get new trains into service as well.
